Network status: live nodes, exit countries and traffic

Every dot is a country where your traffic can leave for the internet, and every diamond a country with entry nodes, the first hop of a 2-hop route. A moving line is traffic crossing from an entry to an exit in the window you pick, wider where more of it flows; rings around an exit are traffic that reached it directly. Zoom to Europe, Asia or the Americas, and open any country for its nodes, uptime, price and traffic.

A country's marker stands at its capital or main city: nodes are known by country, not by address. The map draws coastlines and no borders.

The headline counts the nodes active right now against every listed node. A node that has sent no heartbeat for five minutes counts as degraded, and after thirty minutes as offline; the marketplace only offers active nodes.

Node counts are a snapshot of this moment. They do not change with the time window.

The table lists every country with an exit node online: how many exit nodes it has, their average uptime, the cheapest direct route there (per GB, 20% network fee included), and the entry countries that can start a 2-hop route into it. Select a country to open it in the marketplace.

Uptime is a moving average of 5-minute online checks, weighted toward the last few hours, so a node that drops out loses it quickly.

Pick LIVE (the last 60 minutes), 24h or 7d. Traffic is what users moved through the exit nodes in that window, as metered for billing at every bandwidth report and read once a minute; the map draws the same bytes route by route.

Checkpoints are the traffic counters each node signs every 30 minutes, listed one by one on the Proofs page. Sessions counts the routes users added to their subscription links in the window.

The network flags unusual node behaviour on its own: traffic counters that reset or run backwards, sudden traffic spikes, checkpoints that stop being notarized, byte counts that disagree between an entry and an exit or with the kernel's counters, and probes that get altered pages back. Each flag is a signal about one node to look into, not an outage report.

Everything here is measured from ProofKit's side. It cannot tell you whether a node is reachable from your network, because blocking differs by country and by provider. With your VPN on, the speed test measures the route you are actually using.

Traffic through an entry its operator keeps private is counted at its exit, with no entry country named.
